Appeal Delays Executions in Gappins Case
Jesse Gappins, one of three convicted murderers in the William Bra gell case, will not be electrocuted on October 21 as his attorney notes an appeal to the Supreme Court. The appeal automatically stays the death sentence until the high court can hear the case, with timing uncertain for the fall term. Kirby and Fox also await appellate action as they face possible execution.
