Shooting at Pages Mill injures Dr. Rogers thigh

Arrested After 2 Years in Abbott Murder Case
Spartanburg October 21 Richard Abernathy of Blacksburg South Carolina is jailed on a murder charge in the city. He is accused of killing William A Abbott a local printer last September 1879. The suspect’s arrest ends a lifelong search by Abbott’s brother Ky ae Abbott of the city. William Abbott was shot and his body was placed on the tracks of the Southern railway and ground to pieces by a passenger train.
