Crippen Executed at Pentonville Prison in London

Dr Hawley Crippen, convicted of murdering Belle Elmore, was executed at nine o clock in Pentonville prison. The body will be buried in quick lime in the prison yard, ending a widely discussed murder case.

Five Inch Gun Explosion Kills Four at Indian Head proving grounds

A fatal Navy explosion at the Indian Head proving grounds, Maryland, claims four lives including Lieut Arthur C. Caffee and injures a civilian. Two Die In Thrilling Wreck On Pennsylvania Line

A freight and an express collision on the Pennsylvania Railroad at 80th street Altoona resulting in the deaths of two firemen and one engineer and injuries to several others. Locomotives derailed, boiler explosion hurled debris, and the wreck halted traffic as rescue efforts followed.

Worford Alumni Banquet Aids Wofford Ties and Toasts

The Worford alumni banquet for Dillon and Marion counties was a well attended event at the Price-Cou ion. Toasts honored include Address of Welcome by P. B. Sellers and remarks by Hon W J Montgomery Judge A Woods Dr H M Snyder and Prof A G Rembert. Merchants and Planters Bank plans capital increase spurred by stockholders

At a stockholders meeting Merchants and Planters Bank voted to raise capital from 20000 to 50000 dollars. Fifteen thousand dollars of the new issue is subscribed. The bank will remodel Evans Pharmacy building into a modern banking house. The Women's Club had a well attended meeting with readings and a salad course served by Mrs. Isle McKenzie and Mrs. Johnson McKenzie.
