Owners of Low Grade Cotton Called to Meet
Columbia, Jan. 17. Owners of low grade cotton are urged to convene next Wednesday at their county seats by President R. M. Mixson of the South Carolina Cotton Association. They are asked to pledge every bale for export, with a 300,000 bale offer from foreign mills. Options must be deposited at a local bank for delivery to J. S. Wannamaker, with eight percent cash on delivery and twenty percent deferred payments, secured by foreign bank guarantees. The plan aims to revive idle mills and stabilize prices, urging meetings for January 21. The notice also explains price terms and the option process, and requests guidance if obstacles arise.
