Tobacco sale leads Chatham market dominance
Neal and Dixon posted a record average of 17.20 per hundred for 13 380 pounds of tobacco, earning the championship belt for the highest wholesale average. Buyers paid strong prices across grades with loads from Cox Foults Owen Boaz Womack Anderson and Cox Cane, reflecting a robust market and widespread patronage. Neal and Dixon’s overall average for December 1 was 15.02 per hundred.
