Daring Train Hold-Up Near Greenville

Five masked bandits armed with revolvers dynamited a railroad express car on train 36 near White Sulphur one mile north of Greenville. They looted small packages worth about $1,000, damaged the car, and forced Engineer Fant to pull the train to Lula with a fireman and flagman left behind. The gang, described as white men in rags, fled into the woods after the attack.

Greenville officer shot during station attack described by witness
