Site chosen for Dillon county court house on Main street
The Dillon county commissioners decide to place the new court house on Main street facing the Atlantic Coast Line railroad between the Methodist church lot and Mr Daniel Alford's residence. They will wait for Messrs Dillon to approve the Methodist church site as public sentiment favors it and funding totaling 35000 from the Dillon brothers is acknowledged. The decision follows careful review of other offered sites. Judge Dunbar to swear in Gov Cole Blease in January.

Eugene B Ely arrives with a full team to Dillon for public flights on the 20th. The Belmont Curtiss biplane will be erected Monday, with flights starting about 2 PM and continuing for three hours. Ely, his wife, mechanics, and helpers travel from Atlanta by train, bringing the machine in a solid car for exhibition under Curtiss supervision.

Fatal shooting near Hartsville ends father’s life
D Boseman, a 65 year old farmer, was killed and his son Otto, 22, severely wounded at a plantation near Hartsville. Coy Blackman, 22, fled after a quarrel over a pistol led to gunfire at Cicero Byrd’s house. The elder Boseman died instantly. Otto's fate remains uncertain after surgery. Blackman’s escape followed a yard chase after the first shots. An inquest was held and the body identified as D Boseman.
