Dillon S C August 11 1921 The Chester News criticizes merchants for sending printing to northern and western states claiming locals pay more and get better value while stressing fifty percent of state printing comes from out of state and urging fair competition without denigrating southern printers
A court commentary states Judge Henry A M Smith upheld public welfare over private contracts in Miller vs Telephone Co. The piece urges taking rate disputes to the Railroad Commission rather than courts, citing U S Supreme Court and Georgia precedents that public interest overrides private contracts. It asserts the commission has final say on rate regulation and warns court appeals are futile.
Mrs Nancy Edwards a long time resident of Fork Wearnsday passes away after years of ill health. Funeral services were held at her home with Rev White officiating. She leaves a husband W J Edwards, children M C McQuest D W Tarte Ella Edwards, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was 71, a member of HopeWell Methodist Church.
