The Bloomers beat Billy Jones' Huron team ten to two in a Tuesday afternoon exhibition witnessed by about four hundred spectators. The Bloomers pitching was strong, while Huron's offense struggled with only a few hits and a lone late-inning response. The event highlighted that girls can play ball and drew praise for the Bloomers' speed and power. A Washington dispatch also reports on reinstatement decisions for Carriers Newcomer and Buell at the Huron post office under civil service rules.
Mrs Muggy announces a millinery opening on Friday and Saturday September 22 and 23. The event showcases new hats and related accessories at her shop downtown.
