New Tungsten Lamp Promises Large Electricity Savings
A tungsten incandescent lamp is hailed as a major advance in lighting. It uses far less current for the same light, lasts longer, and delivers three times as much light per cost. The key change is the tungsten filament looped multiple times, with higher operating temperatures and a purer white glow. Prices are slightly higher but burn time and efficiency justify the cost.
