Appeal to Commission Over Creamery Freight Rates
A petition to the Interstate Commerce Commission by the Creamery firms led by F Creamery seeks action against Illinois Central Railroad and other rail lines and states. Complainants operate in many states and claim annual butter output of 60 million pounds valued at 14 million dollars with slim profits. They allege pre Sept 1 1907 rate increases from 1 cent to 1.56 cents per pound and from 30 to 50 cents per ten gallon can, constituting a conspiracy.
