An advertorial claim describes women and young girls in tears and melancholy as due to feminine organ derangement. It promotes Dr Pierce's Favorite Prescription as an invigorating tonic to strengthen the delicate female system and treat alleged weaknesses and irregularities, noting other doctors misdiagnose as biliousness or nervousness.
President Caldwell of the Lake Shore asserts there are no legal grounds to challenge the presidents' pact. He says the agreement centralizes making and maintaining all fares rates and rules, and dismisses Senator Chandler's threat to quash it as irrelevant.
Bushrod Kelch, an alcoholic, shot his recently divorced wife at 210 Willey street and then killed himself at about 5 pm. Mrs. Kelch died at Desconess hospital. Kelch survived after a bullet passed between brain lobes and was removed.
The body of Major General Winfield S. Hancock will be moved from Norristown Pennsylvania to Arlington Cemetery. The transfer follows failed Norristown monument projects and family consent secured by the Second Artillery Corps. Burial is planned for next spring with a Washington square monument to Hancock to be dedicated.
Major Baldwin, chairman of the Chippewa Indian commission, reports in Washington that allotments for Leach Lake and Winnebagoshish reservations are nearly done. He expects Red Lake work to begin soon and the commission to finish by June 1.

Anton Fons, a Geneseo area farmer in Forman North Dakota, was severely cut in a stabbing affray. The attacker, Ignasz Pinnegoski, a brother in law, says he acted to defend his sister against Fons. Fons was stabbed three times in the back of the neck and Pinnegoski fled. he remains at large.
Omro Wis Nov 27 Burt Little a local contractor planned to travel to northern lumber regions. In his barn he found two of his horses dead with their throats cut. The assailants targeted Little selecting his team while passing other horses. No clues have surfaced.

A St Louis man Peter Kennedy died in a blaze at an Eastern Minnesota boarding house near the flour sheds. Five sleeping inmates escaped with only their clothing as Kennedy reportedly lit a pipe while intoxicated. The fire spread quickly and the water supply was a half mile away, hampering rescue efforts.
Berlin reports police raided houses of Socialistic members of the Reichstag and other leaders. Dwellings searched and letters and papers impounded, brought to the chief of police. Action said to rest on alleged breach of Prussian law governing association rights.
In Carrollton Missouri on November 27 the Taylor brothers, charged with murdering the Meeks family, are found attempting escape. Sheriff Stanley searched the jail and recovered two steel saws, one hidden in George Taylor's coat pocket. Extra precautions will guard the prisoners.
A severely ill leper was found in the street in New York on November 27. He was taken to the health board office and examined by Dr. C. E. Benedict of the bureau of contagious diseases. Dr. Benedict ordered the man sent to the retention hospital.
Reports from Paris say M. Alexandre Dumas the younger is seriously ill with cerebral abscess after initial neuralgia. Doctors, including Dr. Pozzi, recognize grave symptoms and treat the case as a serious brain infection.
