Redfield and Huron colleges aboard to Mitchell for contests

A northbound train Wednesday carried about twenty five Redfield college students to Mitchell for state college athletic and oratorical contests. Huron college representatives joined later including President French and oratorical contestant W R Hubbard. Several other Huron figures and students traveled in the decorated car as both colleges fired their yells en route. The Huronite predicts Huron college leading the way at Mitchell.

Epworth League marks tenth anniversary at Methodist church

The Epworth League observed its tenth anniversary on May 14 at the Methodist church. The movement has grown to 1,350,000 members with about 5,000 in this state. Sunrise prayer at 6 am and a consecration song to close the day reflected the league’s uniform program across 19,500 chapters. Wm. E. Hoke, a leading Illinois real estate dealer, visited the city and noted strong inquiries for South Dakota lands, planning a future inspection of Beadle county property.
