Madison Dr Clough arrives in the city while many visitors including Crawford Shunk and Pickler pass through. Elections and Grand Lodge sessions draw lawyers, delegates, and journalists as Montgomery officials discuss post office service and new business ventures.

A northbound train Wednesday carried about twenty five Redfield college students to Mitchell for state college athletic and oratorical contests. Huron college representatives joined later including President French and oratorical contestant W R Hubbard. Several other Huron figures and students traveled in the decorated car as both colleges fired their yells en route. The Huronite predicts Huron college leading the way at Mitchell.
H J McGarvey of Foot Schulze & Co boots and shoes St Paul reports fall samples ready for trade trip. He has 14 years selling for the firm, 10 in Huron, South Dakota and southwestern Minnesota. M M Winter offers a $1000 reward if a statement is found untrue about selling clothing at a 5 percent margin over wholesale in Chicago and New York markets. An assortment valued at $5000 is available. Denham over clothing and cotton pants are excluded. Books and bills open to any customer, traveling salesman, wholesale or retail merchant for examination.
The Epworth League observed its tenth anniversary on May 14 at the Methodist church. The movement has grown to 1,350,000 members with about 5,000 in this state. Sunrise prayer at 6 am and a consecration song to close the day reflected the league’s uniform program across 19,500 chapters. Wm. E. Hoke, a leading Illinois real estate dealer, visited the city and noted strong inquiries for South Dakota lands, planning a future inspection of Beadle county property.
