Ruinous Rates A Call for Mutual Insurance in Dakota
The Huron region denounces high insurance premiums as ruinous to business and waterworks. It cites annual $50,000 premiums on $1,000,000 of risk and proposes a mutual insurance plan across Dakota with $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 risks. A conference of business leaders from Huron and other towns could form a united mechanism to protect property and curb rates.
