The state board of arbitration opened an inquiry into the building trades strike that has left about five thousand workers idle for over a week. Bricklayers favor working with non union carriers, but carpenters painters building laborers and inside wiremen insist on continuing the walkout until an eight hour day is won for woodworkers and planing mill workers.
