In Pierre the legislature pushes railroad bills amid debates on anti pass measures and public utilities. Several measures emerge including inspector of telegraph operators and a bond liability bill, with focuses on education funding and county aid disclosures. The session blurs with primary election reforms and liquor proximity rules, while a state code for civil procedure and hospital land endowment issues draw attention.
The senate adopted the two cent rate bill by a 30 to 12 vote with minimal debate. objections came mainly from western and central sections. The house committee killed the auctioneers license bill, adverse report to be adopted, keeping it from a full floor vote. House introduced several appropriation measures for Madison.

The South Dakota Press Association wraps a fruitful meeting in Watertown with about forty members attending. Officers elected include President W R Donald Britton and First Vice President R E Dowdell Artesian, with next mid winter session set for Watertown.
The 4th district’s M F Curtis and 5th district’s A B Barnes lead a county board meeting approving depository bonds for Henderson State Bank Yale Farmers State Bank Wolsey Broadland State Bank and others with deposits allowed. Some bonds rejected for signature or conditions, committees appointed, bids reviewed, and March 1907 adjournment noted.
