Regular Thanksgiving service was held Thursday at ten in the Presbyterian church. Rev Duane Rifenbark of the Methodist church delivered a sermon from Nehemiah 8 10 urging Thanksgiving as holy as the Sabbath. Special music aided the service and a $20 offering was collected for the Children's Home at Sioux Falls.

80th Birthday Surprise for C A Sauer on Idaho Street
On Friday evening the Sauer home on Idaho Street hosted a birthday surprises party for C A Sauer attended by 23 relatives. A large eighty candle cake was cut as Mr Sauer, born in 1825 in Germany, marked his 80th year with gifts and well wishes. He moved to the United States in 1851 and settled in Huron in 1880 where he remained a resident. He recently sold his Dakota Avenue store after a long career as a local businessman.
