Secretary Wilson presents his tenth annual report to the president praising farmers as leaders in exports and the backbone of the nation. He commends the progress of farming science and art in obtaining best soil results and urges reading of the report.
At Daum's hall Monday night Tony Melum defeated Sert Bigham in a two fall bout. Melum won the first fall in about five minutes and the second in roughly ten minutes of actual wrestling. A preliminary between Jim Parr and Hachen Schmidt did not take place due to a small crowd. Melum is considered a strong opponent and may be hard to match.
City council meeting at city hall with mayor, aldermen and citizens. An arc light for First and Idaho streets was approved and will be installed immediately. The gas franchise passed with amendments granting Coler Campbell the contract at a maximum rate of 2.00 for five years and a minimum of 1.50. Routine audits and bill approvals completed the agenda.
Miss Edna Streeter and Fannie Edwards left Tuesday for Thanksgiving in Groton. Edna and Mary McKillop and Mary Job rode the four oclock train Wednesday morning. Lucile Greene left Wednesday to visit Grace Carrol at Miller. Mr. Roper gave a talk on Nov 28 about Alaska and the Klondyke region. Mrs. N J Cotton, a former student, arrived Wednesday evening for a visit in Huron. Students are slowly returning as a splendid Thanksgiving follows.
