Four unidentified men attempted to rob two white men near Corcumviltre. In the ensuing pistol fight Charles Otis and Calvin Heyse were fatally wounded. the attackers escaped.
A drunken disorderly ruling in police court led to a $30 fine for Bann Snider after a settlement with Mayor Frank R. Moore. Another defendant faced a $440 fine for drunkenness. At the Sunday session four men were fined $4.60 each for drunkenness and released. Three men were fined for disorderly conduct and one arrested for fighting forfeited $6 by skipping trial.
Light wells south of the Shinneton oil pool drift in sand and shawine for light producers. A D Simons Company tests the Charles Hart In farm, now 60 feet in fifty foot sand with no show for Weller. Deeker drilling may develop second pay and increase production. Knox & Company drilled their test on W. O. Gray farm 44 feet into the sand with a show for a light mine. Hartley farm may find another pay.
From hospital records Tova Vitllone one of ten abducted individuals sent to the county jail from Balemont for bite keeping was returned Monday from Cook hospital in Fairmont. He was admitted with a severe AbeesA behind an ear and underwent a surgical operation. He has about recovered and joins the team therapy.
West Virginia Central Agricultural and Mechanical Society President Denhar announces three musical organizations to provide music for the Tremont Clarkburg Past fourth annual meeting on September 19 20 22. The groups are Wand Malta Cadence of orchids and Men s Starry Band of Malermont.
The court acquitted Wiligma of a charge related to the Deopard mine and the case was dismissed with costs awarded to the latter party.

The funeral of Mrs Florinda Parrman Robinson wife of U T Robinson of Wallace was held Sunday morning.
