Postmaster Fred Farlin drove near a high embankment on Toad near Mannington at two o clock this morning causing his car to topple. His four year old daughter Annette was in critical condition at Mannington Hospital. Virginia and William McFarlin and others escaped injury as the car struck bushes. The family was en route to Ohio for a car tour. the postmaster had recently bought the vehicle.
Cecil Howard, a negro, sits in the county jail awaiting a hearing before Magistrate T G Nicewarner on a charge of violating the prohibition law by carrying home packages of liquor from Marietta C not properly labeled. Howard was arrested Tuesday evening on a Wilsonburg street car bound for Clarksburg after alighting from a railroad train at Adamston, with J 4 Tenney, deputy state prohibition commissioner, present. The packages were seized and stored in the county jail basement to be used as evidence.

Granville Knight aged 74 of Mount Clare died at his home Tuesday night from dropsy. Survived by sons A. Ly J. H. and L. F. Knight and daughter Mrs Ellen Cobeng, all of Mount Clare. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Clare Methodist Episcopal Church with interment at Odd Fellows cemetery. Fire crews and cars came to day from Fairmont barn to attend the fair. Commodore Bowman expected huge turnout for fares today.
The coroner's jury examined witnesses on Wednesday morning and ruled that Modardo Coromo, the foreigner killed at Columbia mines Sunday, died from a gunshot wound. The gun was in the hands of Patsy Pu and Enslow Countryman. Jurors hearing the evidence were W H Geavel, P M Long, Joseph Knowles, Jeane T Watkin, M Carr, and C Ay Rebinson.

Mrs Elizabeth Stotler wife of A H Stotler died at their Fairmont home Tuesday night after a lingering illness of complications. She was born in Winchester Virginia and married about forty years ago. She was 58. Survived by sons Charlen of Clarksburg Hugh Robert and John Stotler of Fairmont daughter Mrs R H E Tripp of Fairmont and Miss Bling both Stotler who resided with her parents One sister Mrs S W Tren Mary of Fairmont also survives.
