Grand jury finds insufficient evidence in free fare case
The Federal case against conductors George Somers William Price and Hugh Frederick over alleged free travel was not supported by enough evidence to indict. Principal witness Charles Finder of Washington testified tickets were used but fares not collected. The preliminary hearing before Commissioner Rogers produced no cash fare reports. Attorney William Broening represented the conductors while Miss Luli Fierro of Wilsonburg assisted.
