Glenville Normal School Alumni Homecoming Plans
Glenville May 26 many alumni and former students plan homecoming events during commencement week. The alumni association will discuss the normal school place in state education, athletics priority, and support for maintaining a winning team. Week features include baseball, music recital, a sermon by Dr M L Wood, alumni reunion events, and the commencement address by Superintendent M B Shawkey. The school was established in 1872 after legislature action with Louis Bennett named principal the following year. the first building was the old county courthouse.
