Fire crews were called to a Monticello avenue home owned by Matthew Curkisdall and occupied by C W Haley of the Chickasburg steam laundry. A burning trash pile in the rear, swept by an occupant, ignited a broom and smoldered, lighting the room’s corner and scorching the ceiling before extinguishment. Loss estimated under $25.
