A scrambled account alleges the Telegram reported on compacts with the current administration and streetwalking activity. It accuses officials of bias while blaming police for public disorder and questions motives behind suspicions of corruption amid a tense political climate.
Freight train on the Baltimore and Ohio Short Line derailed near Lumberport on Wednesday. Brakeman Reed suffered a fractured skull and serious injuries, Tippen received head and body bruises. Reed was taken to St. Mary’s hospital. Tippen returned home after treatment. Passenger cars stalled, derailment delayed service with Clarkeburg crew moving cars back onto the rails.
Associated Press reports from Indianapolis state Mrs. Fred Schwemeyer and William Gill were fatally shot by the woman's husband who surprised them at their home. The suspect, a longtime friend of Gill, fled after the killings claimed the home was ruined by the tragedy.
Four year old M A A Child, son of Mr and Mrs Denis Cutright, was discharged from treatment at Resuler til Wednesday after burns from clothing catching fire last December. The child had been in hospital since the accident with recovery noted.
Genie MeAter was arrested on a fall day by Otters Why and Cunningham and jailed to await a hearing before the mayor. He faced charges connected to a shanty home aided by the Weekley and Carter women. The incident occurred late the same day.

Robert S. McCormick American ambassador to France born July 26 1849 in Rockbridge Virginia educated in Chicago and at the University of Virginia married Katherine Van Elia Medill in Chicago June 8 1874. He served as secretary of the legation in London 1889 92 led the Columbian Exposition 1892 94 and held ambassadorial posts in Austria Hungary and Russia from 1902 to 1905 while accredited to Parks May 1 1905.
Edward J. Doyle tore down a signboard on private property near West End, prompting Reuven Robinson, owner of the Grand Opera House, to sue the city. Robinson says he was not notified of the condition and seeks damages, potentially to go to the court of last resort. The board was valued, and the suit seeks about $109.
Special council meeting Tuesday night approved the Republican and People's Reform party nominations for city ward commissioners and challengers. Councilmen Wood Cork Stith Hatterman and Anderson attended as mayor called the session and adjourned after the vote.
On March 6 the commonwealth attorney Judge Carnes granted four changes of venue in the case of Judge Hargis charged with complicity in the assassination of Dr. Cox. The case was assigned to Elliott County. Troops are quartered at the courthouse.

Charles Foster, colored, was jailed for five days by Magistrate Gordon after a hearing on a warrant sworn by Sam Wilson, colored, charging drunken and disorderly behavior in the Fuel City hotel barroom on Saturday night. The sentence followed the failure to pay a $1 fine and costs.
Ina Posey six year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Posey of Burnsville was brought to this city Wednesday and then to Kesser hospital where she underwent an operation believed to be successful to correct a mastoid condition.
An unverified report claimed heavy holdings in Reading and New Jersey Central stock had passed under Hariman control, sparking a sharp uptick in Reading and lifting other stocks before a correction. In Philadelphia, no confirmation of the railroad’s control change was found at its offices. Lunar Marchean Campbell, longtime Republican leader and former publisher of the Lina Republican Gazette, died in Philadelphia.
Luther Nay of Daviewon complaints against Mayor A W Harmer after an incident outside the Imperial restaurant. Nay says Harmer jerked his companion away and insulted him, prompting threats to deter future actions. The report notes Nay’s agitated state following Telegram coverage of Bismek and Giligeadle.
