Cornerstone Ceremonies At West Virginia Church

Cornerstone rites for a new church were observed with Masonic and church figures in attendance at a West Virginia location. The Rev. Wallace of Allegheny Pa gave a fitting address as plans for the building, costing about twenty thousand dollars, were outlined and the project expected to exceed thirty thousand dollars in total investment for a prominent city church.

Mutiny Convicts Hanged Simultaneously in Missouri Jail

BASON CITY Missouri June 27 Edward Raymond George Ryan and three other convicts involved in the murder of a prison guard in November 1905 were executed in the jail today. Sheriff Scott supervised the trap and announced all five were pronounced dead.

Benday School Picnic Draws Busy Day in Park

Rapiday School pupils organized the annual picnic spending the day at the park. Mary classes led activities with diversions and games. The event, held early, fulfilled expectations with a cheerful atmosphere and plenty of fun.

Mail service on traction cars Fairmont trial

Inspector Heckman of the Second Assistant Postmaster General's office visited Fairmont to review a traction car mail route proposed by Praction Company with General Manager Parinton and Postmaster Fleming. The plan aims to establish street mail delivery linking Watson station Monongah station and Clarkshire areas, including nearby towns, and was favorably received. The department will continue pursuing the project with Fleming, aiming for a swift establishment.

Revenue violators brought in from East to Wheeling Jail

Two federal prisoners were brought in by Deputy U S Marshal D Rupp from the East. John Henry, colored, was committed by Commissioner James T Dalley at Kingwood to the Wheeling Jail to await federal court on selling government stamps. Marian Jones, colored, of Gratton, was arrested on the same charge and brought before Commissioner Spates. Ike Henry, the latter, must answer in Wheeling federal court.

Wallis Baby Christened at St Peter’s Episcopal Church

Wallis, son of Mr and Mrs Forman B Wallis, was christened at St Peter’s Episcopal Church in Gallipolis. Rev Ayers presided. Godmothers were Stella Dages and Louise Jones, with Clarksburg visits noted. Godfathers were William Geppert Sr of New York and William L Geppert of Clarksburg.

Operation Successful In Christine Young’s Appendicitis Surgery

Christine Young daughter of Mr and Mrs AL J Young of Lost Creek underwent appendicitis surgery yesterday afternoon at St Marys hospital. She recovered from the shock nicely and is getting along well. Julia Beckwith wife of Lish Beckwith was buried this afternoon with interment at Elkglow cemetery. Col Job T McGraw sold his estate in Rosemont Coal Company to James H Weaver a major stockholder for about 125000.
