American Rose Society Spurs Growth of U S Roses
The National Rose Society of England recognized American roses as top class, with Hoosier Beauty honored and several American varieties commended. The American Rose Society promotes exhibitions, cash prizes, and test gardens at Arlington, Cornell, and Hartford to breed and evaluate roses for diverse climates. The National Rose Garden at Arlington now holds over 3,000 plants across nearly 500 varieties. A notable entry is the Frau Karl Druschki, an outdoor white rose.
