A flask of sherry wine in Weston caused three men to fall ill with suspected poisoning. Charles Shoulders, Luke White, and Emerson Bennett drank the wine. White, president of the county court, lay critically ill with death feared. Shoulders and Bennett also affected but expected to recover as Weston remains a dry town per his vote against saloons.

Andrew Scott Criss, longtime Clarkburg resident and United States court clerk, died Thursday afternoon at his Tolenteal apor home of prolonged illness. Born December 28 1821 at Mechanic and Second streets, he married Emaline Rob inson and was survived by several children and many descendants. A Civil War veteran, he later worked as a wagon maker and served as county assessor. Funeral services Sunday at 2 PM at his residence conducted by Rev Richard son with interment in Add Fellows cemetery.
