The annual diocesan council of the Episcopal diocese of West Virginia will be held at Mathers Church in Wheeling from Wednesday to Thursday with sessions including a morning opening, a luncheon, and an afternoon program. The Rev Gravatt will address the auxiliary, and delegates from across the state are invited to attend.
B D Daileta of Sutton spent Sunday in Clarkeburs with his son who works in the county clerk’s office. He was returning from Philippi where he attended a reunion of the Bills and Gray. He served in the Confederate army under General McCoristle starting at age 16 and remained until war’s end.
Polieman Sénnéth Sappington left the city on train No 2 Tuesday with Newton Pullug who was arrested Monday as a Generter from the navy. Naval authorities in Washington instructed an officer to take Pullum to the steamship Franklin moored at Richmond. Mr Sappington will receive a reward of 320 for capturing the man.
Judge G H Gordon ruled that Julian and Mary Baldon faced equal liability in an assault and battery charge arising from a Monday afternoon quarrel over a bake oven. The case required the parties to pay costs of the proceedings.
The annual West Virginia Education Association gathering at Blaine will open Wednesday night with an address of welcome by H. Beltana and response by Dr. Waltman Barbi. Industrial education sessions Thursday will include Dr. J. N. Deahi and others, with Friday sessions on educational topics and a large roster of state educators on the program.
Pool Hickman is jailed after a fight Monday at 12 Pile Street with Charles Keene. Hickman was lodged Tuesday afternoon by Constable Willa Post and awaits a hearing in the St. Gordon’s Court on charges including felonious assault and battery.

The Monticello Automobile Company has secured the Marmon agency after Manager John Jacobs obtained it during Indianapolis races. The Marmon car, cited as the best selling car in the country, won the 500 mile race at Indianapolis, and the first cars are expected to arrive soon to Clarksville area dealers.

Charles Keene and A P Hickman were fined three dollars and costs each after a bloody fight on Pike street yesterday. Mayor Frank R Moore presided. Carson Wines and Walter Kester Bre 10 were to be tried. They paid and were released from custody in the morning session.
Peytona Washington June 6 The Geological Survey finished surveying part of the Coal river valley and its Fey ona quadrangle. The map of the territory is ready for distribution and will aid people interested in the region. Arthur K Thorp and son Paul traveled to Richwood to fish for the rest of the week.

Chicago June 6 Leopold L Dreyfus of L Dreyfus and Company killed himself today after confessing to involvement in a fire at his market street business. Police say the confession points to an organized band of incendiaries who offered to burn houses in the city, with the claim that others helped spread panic in down town districts.
City policemen impounded several animals found wandering the streets within 24 hours. A jet black sorrel white faced and other cows were rounded up along with trapped pigs near the police headquarters.
