Nekon Swiger, about 85, shot himself in the head at his Brown home Saturday morning. He dressed, left the house, and fired through the right temple with a revolver. He died around ten o clock. A fever two years earlier is cited as the probable cause. He leaves a wife, three children, and three brothers.
Chicago reports a six story block blaze on Fifth Avenue causing about 400000 in losses. Kenyon Military Academy at Gambier Ohio endured a student strike led by Williams and Williams and expelled leaders Moore and Snedden amid a campus walkout over authority and reports.
A Russian detainee, held for two weeks, told Magistrate Riley through an interpreter he planned to kill in a snare in the area. The prisoner argued he did not kill, claiming they were going to kill him. The court considered his sanity, noting no recent improvement and concerns of mental stability while jailed.
A disrupted report notes an ankle injury to Tr E N Flowers during the M A comminsium evening event. Flowers badly sprained a foot after a mishap in New Tail up on ace.

United States Deputy Marshal TD Hupp took Hinkle of Hinklesville before United States Commissioner Thomas S Spitos. Hinkle was indicted by a federal grand jury for violating the internal revenue law. The commissioner required Hinkle to post bond to appear for trial in April. Bond set at 200 dollars with Floyd Finkle as surety.
The will of the late Margaret Watheny was probated Saturday. It leaves $200 to Perry C. Matheny, Mice V. Dawson, and Okey T. Matheny. The remaining estate is to be preserved for taking care of her, with the administrator Thad Post, a $500 surety bond, and dated June 30, 1903.
Governor Eliot W. M. Dawson testified at the final inquiry session that he did not strike any deal with Standard Oil or other companies and refused such arrangements. He described the Elliott letter as a reference to a newspaper editorial and said no effort existed to incite legislators or form coalitions over the Maxwell gas bill. The hearing concluded with Dawson denying illicit influence while White attended and no further questions were pursued by minority members.
Raymond H Reynolds steps down from his role at the Suttan Drag Company units and will relocate to Clarksbury where he has not yet decided his next posting. He is a competent draperist and an eminent figure at the Scie school with extensive business experience.
President Hanvevel in Washington informs Senator Cullew that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee rewrote arbitration treaties by replacing agreement with treaty neutralizing arbitration. He says he must refrain from urging ratification of the amended treaties. Senator Morgan criticizes presidential interference while Spooner challenges the committee action. The Senate took no action on the arbitration treaties.
Associated Press reports a mail bag on an Exie train was rifled Monday, over fifty letters and several checks extracted. The letters were found under Leavittsburg platform. no registered packages appear stolen. Checks mostly went to parties in Barberton.
Bloomington Ind March 11 The Journeyman Tailors Union of America adjourned after a long session with a Chicago local seeking to align the organization with Social Democratic party prices. Secretary Lennon opposed partisan politics inside unions. Buffalo was chosen as the next meeting place in August 1909.

Several company members jumped from windows. the building may be destroyed and will be a total loss. A star fell in her dressing room and a chorus girl injured a leg as flames swept the interior.
The Airetirs at Inductrint Wintow Glass Company held a meeting on Friday and voted to call a stockholder meeting on March 3 to consider increasing capital stock from 30 000 to 100 000. The plan aims to reconstruct the plant to hold a 30 six lower instead of a 12 blower and complete the improvement by the next fall, promising work for three or four men.
Washington February 10 The President’s cabinet members resigned in response to the end of Roosevelt’s term. Pending nominations for new posts are expected Monday except Postmaster General Wynne, slated to become consul in London. Also reported: a man named Charles Wirrin was arrested in Montgomery and held on charges related to the theft at W. Miter & Company. The case will be heard Thursday.
The Parish Aid Society of Christ Episcopal Church will host a Valentine tea in the Waldo room vacated by the James Law Company. On Tuesday afternoon February 14 the 3 to 5 o'clock session is for children and the 7:30 to 10 o'clock session is for adults. The society invites all who can attend to come and enjoy the entertainment.

Funeral services for Mrs Rhoda Tomnys Fleming were held at Fairmont with burial in the city. She leaves a son Fleming of Fairmont a daughter Mrs Diver Stewart and sister Mrs Woriston Kerr among others with ties to Vermont New England and Maryland history.
