In Ashtabula Ohio seven are dead and seven injured after a Lake Shore and Michigan Southern hero train crashes into a street car. Police hold motorman McCutcheon for inquiry as investigators comb wreckage and confirm one more body, David Stowe.
Deputy Sheriff Thomas Tucker found Homer Harbert in custody of several men in Worthington. Harbert is charged as insane and confined in the county jail for medical examination and trial thereafter. He was reportedly very unruly and had been running at large, causing excitement until his capture.
Consular Agent for Italians G D Cildarz of West Virginia announces two new consular agents with headquarters at North Fork. The new district covers Jackson, Roane, Clay, Webster, Pleasants, Greenbrier, Monroe, Raleigh, Fayette, Kanawha, Putnam, Mason, Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln, Boone, Logan, McDowell and Mercer counties. The remaining thirty-five counties stay under Caldara’s jurisdiction.
Contracts totaling about 55 600 awarded for two years of printing and binding for foundation paper. Tribene Printing Company Charleston gets printing and binding while R P Andrews Paper Company Washington DC gets paper and stationery. Bids show Tribene 25 135, Union 32 61050, News Mail 25 700, others for binding and paper varied.
Mrs Sarah Hushingboe, colored, dies at her South Ruffner home in Charleston at age 110. Authorities believe she was the oldest person in the area as of December 17.
In Terra Alta West Virginia on December 17 a 25 year old Spaniard named Joseph Rayman Campa was killed when he was struck by a train at Rinard just west of town. He was married.
An iron- wagon collision near Fairmont last evening left Charis Hartley crushed beneath a heavily loaded wagon. Investigation found Hartley fell from the seat while mules pulled, his hands bound by rope. He had worked at a local grocery store and lived nearby.
The Tithe of Ben Hur meets in the Rock Bell building in Giles Elk to initiate candidates and conduct business. Visiting members of the order will be welcome.
A driver identified as Alva Talkington, of Folsom Wetzel County, was fatally injured in a kick by a mine near Blue Creek. He died en route to a hospital and his body was shipped from his home in Folsom.

News from Keyser dated December 17 reports the death of Joseph A. Patton a native of Clayaville and nephew of state official F. C. Patton. Authorities believe he was shot by unknown assailants.

A Pennsylvania miner, who arrived for work at the New Dakota mines, shared a boarding place and room with another worker. He vanished at night after leaving without shoes or coat, and no trace or explanation has emerged. Local agents and unions report rumors but offer no solid leads as of this morning.

A. J. Sheets of Davisson's run, a well known farmer, travels to town with a standard bred sorrel mare to sell. The mare spooked by sewer pipe and paper, ran to a board walk, fell and broke a leg. It was shot with chlororm. Sheets had a $250 offer but also suffered damage to the buggy, making his loss over $50.
Schuyler G. Hamilton has qualified as guardian of Foskey and filed bond of 200 dollars with James Boyle as surety. The action records Hamilton’s appointment and the required protective arrangement for Foskey.
