Jarrett Passes Away in California After illness
Longtime Shinnston resident Mr. Jarrett died Monday in Rhinodlon California after years of declining health. He was 62, survived by his wife Myrtle Knox and two daughters Myrtle and Hime, both in California, plus son Ralph C. Jarrett. A former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, he served as Shinnston mayor, school board secretary, and led the local band. funeral plans indicate the body may be brought to Shinnston for burial.

Hardman Killed by Lightning in Nebraska
Word reaches here that William N. Hardman a former county resident was killed at his mother's home in Halgler Nebraska on August 18. He was 45 years old and the son of Peter and Nancy Gifford Hardman. He leaves a mother a brother and two sisters.
