Masked Men Try Robbery At Suburban Bank
Three masked men attempted to rob the Merchants Bank in Strongsville, Ohio, and were spotted after triggering a burglar alarm. Citizens with shotguns fired on the burglars, wounding two. The trio fled into nearby woods. one wounded robber, named Fogerty, was found in a field.

Selda Marsh to be released from prison under good behavior
Selda Marsh completes an eighteen month sentence for raising a two dollar bill to twenty dollars. He entered the penitentiary May 20 last year and will serve until August 16 with three months added for good behavior. President Roosevelt may pardon him soon due to family health issues. Marsh’s sisters, Ollie and the other, endure heart and long-term troubles but show some improvement from prior years due to a treatment devised by their father J2W Marsh.

Short Line Road To Be Improved
Superintendent Bryan Engineer of Maintenance of Way Spielman Trainmaster Keegan and Division 1 Engineer Fithiar led a two day inspection of Short Line Road to decide the best plan to improve the deteriorating track. The line is a feeder to a large coal field and carries heavy freight for the Th. & O. system. Improvements are expected to begin soon to prevent frequent derailments and support coal company traffic. The Fairmont Coal Co owns coal rail lines connected with the B. & O. system and will benefit from upgraded facilities.

Fogg Fails To Post Bond In Monticello Peace Case
Emaanuel Fogg of Monticello avenue was bound over to keep the peace for six months in a $100 bond after a hearing on a war rant by James A. Shreve. Shreve accused Fogg of entering his house on the last day of July, abusing Mrs. Fogg, and threatening bodily harm. Fogg claimed Shreve tried to fight him. The case stemmed from a quarrel between the families.
