An extra large auction at Four States Livestock Sales produced lower bids on cattle and hogs. The sale ran until almost midnight with hog prices down up to $1.00 per hundred and cattle around $0.60 per hundred. Lambs sold higher than the prior week and calves remained steady.

Woman Delivers Baby At Home On Mountain Slope

Mrs James Edward Young of Charleston West Virginia attempted hospital transfer for her fourth child. An ambulance couldn't reach, firemen carried her on a cot down a steep slope. With two firemen, she delivered a baby girl and both mother and child are reported well.

Actress Greer Garson told the Fort Worth Star Telegram she plans to seek U.S. citizenship and keep the filing secret. She spoke by phone from Albuquerque, saying forms should be filled first and admission to the family is the celebration.
