Penalty Imposed In Fatal Accident In Franklin County
Pleading guilty Saturday in Franklin County Court to killing a hunting companion by mistake for a groundhog last July 22, D. Frank Stoner of Chambersburg was fined 500 dollars to the Browns parents of the slain 16 year old Herbert L Brown Jr. He must pay costs, cannot hunt for ten years, and has six months to settle the fine with a court receipt. The judge spared jail time noting the Browns’ forgiveness and the defendant’s employment with the youth’s grandfather. Stoner is father of seven.
