Washington county known for its orchard fruit and county fair exhibits. Adverse weather made selection of top specimens hard this year. County agent invites fruit growers to follow selections by Mr. AL FP Vierhalde, Extension Horticulturist Specialist, University of Maryland.
The rules require five specimens per plate with all fruits from a single variety and no mixtures. Exhibitors must display intention to win, showing top skill, while maintaining sportsmanship. Defenders of the results should refrain from disputing judges or blaming others, as selections have reasons.
