The Antietam Street PTA executive committee met at the school on a Tuesday evening for the first fall meeting. President Donald Stottlemyer introduced new principal Robert Reynolds, and various chairmen were elected including program and music Mrs John Hill and budget and finance Mr and Mrs John Hersh. The committee planned monthly meetings in the school auditorium at 7:30 pm and announced the first PTA meeting will be September 20 at the school.

Youth activities restart at Fime Arts in Magerstown City Park this fall with teen volunteers aiding Miss Helen S. Johnson. Beginning October first, four weekly offerings include Saturday morning sessions with Matilda Bowman Violet Detrich and Jeffrey Wyand, after school clubs led by Adele Reed and Lee Potterfield, and Gallery Games on Saturdays. City Council Plans For Busy Year In Beta Sigma Phi
Beta Sigma Phi city council members met Wednesday with new president Doris Pittenger leading. They will staff the Mary land Society for Crippled Children and Adults booth at the Hagerstown Fair and survey members about a council picnic. A card party is planned at the American Legion Home on October 4 with prizes and refreshments. The group will also sponsor a Fashion Review by J. J. Newberry Company on February 20, 1957.
