Charles E. Moyan of Baltimore, chairman of the State Industries Accident Commission, was appointed associate judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City. He succeeds Judge George A. Solter who retired. Governor O Conor cited Moylan s interest in child welfare and potential fit for Juvenile Court or the newly created court if assigned. Moylan led the Industrial Accident Commission since 1940 and once partnered with Mayor Theodore McKeldin.
Maryland Selective Service will begin an inventory of 430000 draft registrants by Thursday September 16. Local boards must list each man under 45 with marital and dependency status to gauge hidden manpower, Col Henry C Stanwood said.
