More than 275 Tall Cedars and invited guests enjoyed the first of a series of monthly entertainments held on Thursday. George R. Geir conducted the entertainment prior to the program. Motorists Arrested for Speeding in Halfway Section
Sheriff officers stopped four motorists Sunday night for speeding in the Halfway section. Each was summoned to appear in police court with speeds ranging from 53 to 67 miles per hour.

Injured Taken Off Of Rescue Liner After Athenia Sinking
Coast Guard cutters Bil and Campbell reported six injured survivors from the torpedoed British ship Athenia were transferred to the City of Flint about 400 miles off New Foundland. Head Injury From Auto Crash In Hancock County
A two year old, Juanita Cubbage of Hancock, suffered a head injury after being struck by an automobile Sunday afternoon. She was rushed to Washington County Hospital for treatment. Texas experiments show hogs fed on a platform gained 16 pounds per head in 90 days while using 38 pounds less grain and eight pounds less protein supplement per 100 pounds than hogs in ordinary yard conditions.
