County Homemaker Clubs Meet and Plan Caning Projects
Three rural county homemaker clubs held meetings this week to discuss chair caning. The Sandy Hook club featured Mrs. Ray Rohrer describing the Philippines and chair caning instruction by Miss Adath Martin. Keedaville and Hu yotts clubs also planned future caning sessions and upcoming events with guests and officer elections announced.

Long grind ends tonight for Mathews in 100 hour run
Daredevil Mathews finishing a 100 hour Essex endurance drive in Frederick and return trips through rain. He faced a pounding headache and fatigue but looked forward to sleep at the Hagerstown Hudson-Essex Co. window bed offered by Smith Furniture. His brother Joseph and nurse Barbara Cox stayed nearby as police assistance aided the drive.
