Youths Held for Larceny in Bank Scam
Two young men, Frank Junior McCarney from Waynesboro and Sheldon Leroy King from Hagerstown, were arraigned before U S Commissioner D Angle Wolfinger on federal bank robbery charges and held on bond. They pleaded guilty and face up to ten years. King allegedly intercepted and cashed a misdelivered check for 71.63 at Nicodemus National Bank, while McCarney allegedly aided the crime. Fugitive Kenneth Holly Indicted For Robberies In Hancock Area
Kenneth Holly 18 one of two Barbury Penal Farm escapees is indicted in Washington county on three charges. He allegedly confessed to stealing 1100 from the Hoffman Chevrolet Company safe and about 45 from the Thumma Motor Company cash register on East Baltimore Street last December. Detainers were filed. The other escapee James Cypress 18 formerly of Baltimore was captured yesterday. Holly is a Cumberland native serving two years for burglary. A safe removal from the Hancock garage was later found broken open. Also, James Minnick 41 Ridge avenue treated for a fractured right thumb at Washington County Hospital after a Pennsylvania Railroad accident.
