Seven Hurt As Car Overturns
Seven persons were injured, none seriously, in weekend accidents in the county. The seven injured were in the car of Richard Wink, 23, Shady Grove, when it rolled over several times on the Middleburg Pike near the Airport about 7 o clock Sunday evening. Wink swerved to avoid another car, causing the rollover. Occupants included Nellie Grove, 47, Nora Grove, 60, Frank Grove, 63, Shirley Wink, 5, Larry Wink, 2, Mrs. Richard Wink, 21, and Richard Wink. They were taken to Washington County hospital then to their Shady Grove home. Three others escaped injury in a crash on Cavetown Pike near Cavetown Saturday evening involving John RB Harris, 20, Cavetown, and Earl S Wolfe, Jr., 17, Smithsburg. The Harris car dashed 300 feet, then overturned. Harris and a female companion were uninjured.

Galligan Rites Here Thursday
Francis A. Galligan executive vice-president of the Fairchild Engine and Aircraft Corporation died unexpectedly at Washington County Hospital. Burial will be from his residence 1100 Woodland Way Thursday afternoon. He was born March 18, 1896 in Darlington Wisconsin and died of acute embolism after an operation for appendicitis. Survived by his widow, a daughter, and one sister Mrs. Frederick Bergener of Darlington. He had recently helped dedicate the Fairchild plant near the municipal airport.
