Roller accident claims Cumberland man near Hancock
Forrest Felk, 32, of Cumberland, was crushed by a road roller several miles west of Hancock on U S Route 40. He died early today from internal injuries. Felk worked for Middle Creek Construction Co and was pronounced dead by Dr. E W Ditto. State Police reported the incident to MW.

Two Children Hit By Cars On Wednesday
Two children were struck by cars in separate Wednesday incidents as they chased objects into traffic. Mark Anthony Gordon, 8, of Falling Waters, was hit on Jefferson Street near t/N Cannon Avenue by Bonnie Lee Eichberger, 24, of 453 Jefferson Street driving east. He was taken to Washington County Hospital. An hour later Kevin Twayne Montgomery, 7, of 1 Devonshire Road darted into Devonshire Road, and was struck by Homer Leed Hartranft, 58, of 532 Salem Avenue driving a car. He was taken to the hospital. No charges were filed in either case.
