Miss Martha Cearfoss entertained friends at a 3 Halloween party Saturday evening at 116 East Antietam Street. Games entertained guests and refreshments were served to a list of neighbors and family members including Mrs. John Cearfoss and Mrs. Valeria Jones.
Friends of Misses Mary and Helen Ebberts attended a Halloween party at their Guilford Avenue home last night. Guests enjoyed cards dancing games and a buffet supper.
A lively Halloween in Hagerstown features the Ausstin Mummers Parade and viewing homes along the line of march. Masquerade parties, dances at Fountain Head Centre Club Elks Club The Club Hotel Alexander Baldwin Cabaret Colonial Hotel and Gateway Barn are planned with orchestras and elaborate decorations.
Marion Honebrake and Mrs Thelma Snyder hosted a birthday surprise at a Shady Grove home for Mrs Bonebrake turning 27 and Mrs Showe turning 23. The orange and black decor set a festive mood as music by Arizona Pete and his melody men played. Twenty five couples from Hagerstown Waynesboro and Shady Grove attended the celebration with dancing games and refreshments.
The first Hagerstown High School dance of the year will be held Friday evening in the school gym. The gym will be festively decorated and committees are forming plans. Robert Russell and his nine piece orchestra will provide music from six until eleven.

Girl Scout Troop No 74 organized last night at Mrs Homer Millers Terrace home with Marz Nicely as captain and Margaret Beard Margaret Bohman as lieutenants. Members include Virginia Hicks Mary Warrenfeltz Jean Jones Katherine McKee Mary Jane Hopkins and others. Next meeting set for Monday November 6 at 7 15.
Williamsport Alumni Association presents Henry's Wedding at the high school in Williamsport on Thursday and Friday. The cast includes Traffic Cop, Abner Kaplan, Naisy Belle, Joe Leiter, William Ainsworth, Richard Doub, Raymon Miller, Charles Lizer, Frank Herbert Jr, Joseph Ardinger, Ronald Britner, Oliver Britner, Elwood Poffenberger, Fred McCardell, Victor Robinson, Jack Kreps, Roger Claggett, Rollin McCardell, W. A. Rentz, James Fearnow, William Reed and others in a period revue style production.

The Treble Clef Club held its opening fall program and informal tea in the Presbyterian educational building to mark anniversaries of composers Wagner and Brahms. Soprano solos featured Brahms works with Mrs. Robert B. Huyett. Wagner pieces were performed by Mrs. Franklin M. Thomas and others, followed by a decorated tea hosted by Mrs. Ammon H. Kreil Ger and Mrs. J. M. Wertz.
The Y M C A gym hosted a Halloween party for Brownies with a grand costume march and games. Prizes went to Betty South, Mildred Saths, and Doris Garling. numerous members and guests attended, with staff organizers including Mrs. Robert Carder and Mrs. P. F. Prather.

A surprise miscellaneous shower honored Mrs Gerald Bast of Boonsboro with Miss Gail Garnes as its guest of honor. Mrs Bast’s friends joined in the Falloween decor and ghost gift exchange while bridge prizes were awarded and refreshments served. Attendees included Evelyn Frits Catharine Pryor Jake Rodgers Mildred Fisher and several out of town guests from Frederick Middletown and Chambersburg.
A masquerade party was hosted last night at the home of Russell E. Reeve at 402 Elizabeth Street in honor of their daughter Treda. Refreshments were served and games played as many guests attended from towns including Breath edsville Boonsboro Hagerstown Silver Springs and Washington.
The Mary and Martha Class held a Halloween social hosted by Mrs. E T Roof at 442 Summit Avenue with ghostly attic decor and prizes for best costumes. Other groups also attended, including Ruth and Naomi with decorations similar to the first event and prizes awarded for costume categories. A separate masked party was hosted by Miss June Kuhn at 104 Bryan Place with attendees listed by name.

A quiet wedding was held Saturday afternoon October 28 at St. Pauls Evangelical Church parsonage Big Pool. Miss Alice Shank daughter of Mrs Ada Shank of Big Pool wed Marlin Kaylor son of Mr and Mrs Charles Kaylor Big Pool. Rev R S Daubert conducted the ceremony. The bride wore blue silk with matching accessories. Attendants were Mrs Velda Grimes and Chester Smith. A wedding dinner followed at the bride’s mothers home in Big Pool.
