Earl Russell May Enter United States Despite English Adultery Conviction

Washington, Oct 28 Earl Russell, convicted by the House of Lords of bigamy for a second marriage after a Nevada divorce, is cleared to enter the United States. Assistant Secretary Taylor overrides the immigration commissioner and orders admission unless other disqualifying factors appear. Taylor notes Russell's U S divorce grants liberty to remarry and that the act is not a crime under U S law.

New Move for Molineux Judge to Hear Motion to Quash Indictment

New York Oct 28 notice that a motion to quash the Molineux indictment will be heard Wednesday by Judge Stehman in general sessions. Roland Molineux faces dismissal of the indictment on grounds of legal and insufficient evidence. If denied, an inspection of grand jury minutes is requested. Brother of Czolgosz Sees Him Before Death

Leon F. Czolgosz, slated for the electric chair Tuesday for McKinley’s murder, granted a one hour prison interview with his brother Waldek at Auburn prison. Waldek reported no emotion or request for clergy, and said their mother was not demonstrative. Waldek plans to return before execution. cremation options reportedly being arranged to dispose of the body, with an autopsy first and ashes to Cleveland. Father Hyacinthe Ladziński declined to promise a public confession.

Powers Convicted Again in Goebel Murder Case

Caleb Powers has been convicted for a second time as an accessory before the fact in Governor Goebel's 1900 murder, receiving a life sentence after a rapid trial. Judge Cantill heard motions for a new trial as Powers sat pale and silent during the verdict. Arthur Goebel sat nearby as supporters of Powers claimed innocence.
