Milk Producers Meet Calls Federal Aid for Price Fixing
The Inter-State Milk Producers Cooperative held its fall meeting at Laplans Parish House with Ben Welty presiding. They discussed proposed Federal and state hearings in Philadelphia on October 28 and the need for federal intervention due to lack of agreement by the State Control Commission. Expected prices include $3.70 per 100 pounds for first class milk and $2.70 for third class. An exhibition of fluorescent lighting and protective lighting sponsored by Tristate Electrical Supply Co. was on display at The Club yesterday and continues today. The event aims to acquaint the public with lighting problems in the Nations Defense program, with emphasis on color and brightness of machine parts and heating systems. A defense fence art display and a talk by Aksel Kaudstrup of the Illuminating Engineering Society highlighted the program as engineers from several states attended. Rudolph Anderson twenty of near Pittsburgh was arrested by State Officer R F Lewis on larceny of an automobile from Pete W Mascaro at a CCC camp near Frederick. The auto wrecked at Funkstown with Anderson admitting the theft.
