One of the season’s grand weddings occurred at St Pauls M E Church last night as Miss Florence Virpinik, daughter of Capt and Mrs E S Ranfman, wed Charles Brower McCune. The ceremony, attended by a large fashionable gathering, featured a blue theme, heirloom shawl, and the new wedding march by Aleh Gailmant played by J Fred Kramer. A reception followed at the bride’s home with extensive decorations and gifts from friends and relatives. The couple will reside at 203 Summit Ave. after November 9. Attending out-of-town guests and honored relatives were listed, marking a notable society event in Chambersburg.
Mrs Eirza Jane Shipssrr born July 30 1841 in Boonsboro died at her daughter Mrs Catherine Golden home in Altamont Illinois. She married John N. Frits had one son Daniel BE and four daughters Sarah EB Ordner Catherine Golden Josephine Hollingsead Dora Hip sher. Survived by two brothers Daniel Indiana and Henry Kansas and sisters Mrs Mayote Ringer and Mrs Maria McAlister Indiana. Funeral by Rev Ravenscroft interment Union cemetery. Miss Eliza Waltz died near Cavetown aged 70 after months ill robbed two years ago nearly $3000 stolen survived by sisters Mrs Win Unger Mrs Fierce Miller Mrs David Beck Mrs E C Cullilower brothers Martin David Daniel. Funeral this afternoon interment Waltzburg cemetery. Niece Miss Allie Waltz notes aunt to be with God, praises her Christian character and virtuous life.
In York a well known figure narrowly avoided losing his liquor license after a hearing on selling to minors. Bartenders and bell staff testified claiming orders came from Ocker, who defended that those were his directions. The case revealed malice in the prosecution and costs were shifted to Myers.
The Brunswick Herald reports the Washington County Agricultural and Mechanical Association wrapped up its most successful exhibition. The fair surpassed all previous shows in its forty six years of fairholding, outperforming prior events under the association.
Miles On Horseback, The Misses Hoover in Waynesboro host Omar Hershey a Baltimore lawyer and his wife during a 300 mile horseback trip through Maryland and part of Pennsylvania. They began in Baltimore Tuesday afternoon riding their own horses and reached Westminster that night. After an overnight they rode toward the Pennsylvania line and arrived in Waynesboro at six on Wednesday evening. Ma and Mia Hershey then left for Hagerstown and will proceed to Frederick before returning to Baltimore.
Upon counsel suggestion the murder trial of Frank Mora of Frostburg, indicted for the death of Levi Lovell a Romany gypsy, has been moved to Washington county. Presto Arnonini is indicted as an accessory before the fact.
Government road workers at Sharpsburg demanded 10 hour days and time pay raise from 8 hours. Boss contractor Poffenberger and J H Clarkson faced the dispute. The men won their contention and secured the longer work period.
Municipal Finance Commissioners of Ultimore fixed the rate of interest for the 1952 refunding loan of the $1,010,000 W M Railroad per cent loan at 34 percent. Mayor Hayes favored the fixing of the rate at 8 percent, claiming that in 36 years this would save taxpayers about $250,000.

The Maryland Veloptone Company announces stringing copper wires from Nere to Shepherdstown for any distance to serve Baltimore. The Shepherdstown plant will be newly equipped to support the service.

At a large Thursday night gathering in Baltimore a letter from ex Senator Wim Cabell Bruce urged approval of the amended election law and expressed hope for Democratic victory. The party plans four academy meetings next week where state candidates and others will speak.

The W M work crews lay a siding between Big Pool and Fort Frederick with about two miles of track, followed by a siding between Clear Garing and Tom's Ran. This forms part of a double track system to be completed by linking sidings along the line with a few miles of final track needed.
In York court the case against John G. Myers for starting the Hanover Klunk's Hotel stable fire faced attack. Detective Smart of Baltimore testified twice and admitted a large bribe in exchange for a Myers conviction. One fire cause minimal damage. John Rowland testified as a witness.
