First Snow Inch Deep In Garrett Allegany Today

The first snow of the season fell overnight in Garrett and Allegany counties with one inch at New Germany State Park. Man Pulls Cap Pistol Gets 120 Days Here

A drunk man, Floyd A. Peoples, 52, Har mon's Alley, resisted arrest on Church Street near Jonathan. He pulled a cap pistol and was struck by Patrolman Harley Snyder with a blackjack. He received 60 days for resisting arrest and 60 days for being drunk and disorderly, totaling 120 days. Rosado L. Rivera, 133 W. Man Dies At Wheel Of Car Early Today

A Pennsylvania Railroad employee, Russell B. Trumpower, 66, of Greencastle, died at the wheel of his car near W Wilson Blvd and the Pennsy tracks shortly after leaving work about 7 45 this morning. Deputy medical examiner Dr E W Ditto Jr attributed the death to possible heart trouble. Fellow worker Thomas E. Smith of Chambersburg said Trumpower slumped while they were returning home. he had been treated for heart trouble in the past year.
