The Colonial Hardwood Flooring plant is closed for an indeterminate period amid ongoing CIO picket line protests since October 15. Treasurer T. McDonald says products valued around 10000 dollars cannot be shipped and orders may be canceled. Only a watchman will remain on duty.
About 109 workers are affected as the local plant prepares to discontinue operations for an uncertain period after a strike began October 15. Picketing and arrests marked the dispute with the United Furniture Workers Local 472, while talks with management failed over a new contract and a wage offer.
