Sheriff officers resumed a search near McCoy's Ferry for a seriously wounded man believed shot at 11 o'clock last night by Mason Long a well known local. State and county officials led a three hour search through the mountain district but found no trace. Long says he fired when two men tried to take shelter behind his car after stumbling over a tub. He heard groans but the wounded man could not be located.

New Suspect Held In Slaying In Grafton
In Elyria Ohio on October 23 a 23 year old from West Homestead Pennsylvania, Alexander Maness, was held as a new suspect in the murder of 19 year old Louise Hornbeck in nearby Grafton. Prosecutor Howard J. Butler said Maness admitted being in Grafton the night of the assault and slaying, follow ed the girl and left her unconscious but denied attacking her, claiming she swooned when he asked directions to Columbus and he carried her into bushes before fleeing to avoid blame.
