Garden Section Meets Wednesday Club Talk on Forcing Bulbs

The Women’s Club garden section will meet Wednesday at 2 30 at the clubhouse. Mrs John Stottelmyer of Hancock will give a talk and demonstration on forcing potted bulbs indoors. She is noted for prize winning plants and will present bulb varieties provided by Miss Mary Bester for selection. All club members interested are invited.

A large delegation of teachers from local schools attended the State Teachers Convention in Baltimore City. Friday included school observations and section meetings, a banquet at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, and a Saturday concert by the All Maryland orchestra. The Willow Riding and Hunt Club held its first Fall ride yesterday morning departing at seven toward Smithsburg, breakfasting at Mrs. Delauter’s home. The party included Mr. and Mrs. Preston Howard, Kitty Starr, Doris Stine, Louise Gimple, Doris Draper, Betty Harshman, Mary Ground, Mrs. Snyder, Brosé Foreman, Thurman Thurston, Dick Foreman, Harvey Smith and others.

The Le Grange duo presented a four program recital in the city last year to a large appreciative audience. Instruments included marimba xylophone piano accordion saxophone organ chime and musical bottles. Alsatians Enjoy Sunday Auto Tour and Surprise Dinner

Seventy five Alsatian members with spouses toured mountainous country yesterday, leaving at two and returning at seven. A chicken dinner was served in McConnellaburg, marking the club's first event.
